Sneak peek of the Wicked Witch sculpt!!!
Thursday, October 17, 2013
Take a look at the new Wicked Witch from Polar Lights – we expect her and her winged monkey to fly in late spring or early summer 2014. I will post more details when I get them.
Is this going to be resin?
We are exploring that, but we hope to be able to do it in plastic.
Have heard that the monkey is going to be a separate kit/add-on (according to Megahobby)and wanted to verify that, if possible.
Hi, my name is Dave and I have a question or two , Are you guys ever going to build 1/2 tons or 3/4ton trucks any more, I know I would like to see a builder making Chevs, Fords or Dodges in older (1970s to newer) pick up trucks. Or like a Dodge mega cab 1 ton dually, or a Ford 3/4 ton flat deck, or not to many builds make Cargo trailers. I know guys that build Garages with hosets, tool boxes and so on. I made a couple of Cargo car haulers for guys hom have Drag cars trailers and wanted model trailers to match. Please let me know if your ever going to build sutch models, Thank You Dave Copeman , Medicine Hat Alberta Canada.
Hi Dave. I checked in with John G. who takes care of all of our automotive kit planning and this is what he had to say…
Right now we have no current plans for those particular vehicles, but as we slowly move towards creating more all-new tools, anything can happen. We know that trucks are very popular and always keep them in mind for subject matter.
There has been a lot of disappointment expressed over the reported cancellation of the Wicked Witch of the West model kit. I think the kit would have sold well, since 2014 marks the 75th anniversary of the release of THE WIZARD OF OZ. The film’s appeal is so widespread and it would seem to have been a winner for Polar Lights with modelers of all ages. I hope whatever the holdup is can be resolved.
I’m as sorry as anyone that the kit won’t make it into production. Unlike most new kits, the idea for this one didn’t begin with me, but with Tom L. I fought hard to get the kit produced and I wasn’t the only one fighting for it. In the end, there were a few factors involved and the final decision was out of my hands.
James,
I don’t think anyone thought the decision to cancel the kit was frivolous. It’s too bad, but then there are so many other models available now, one really can’t complain too much. My own stash is overwhelming as it is!
