Round 2 Models: Leif Ericson and Klingon Battle Cruiser Update!
Any time there is a lag between blog posts you can count on one thing… Jamie is BUSY. I used to try to write weekly then every two weeks but I’m slipping more and more all the time. Oh well… I figured I’d offer up a quick update on a couple projects we’ve been working on.
I received test shots already for our collector’s tin release of the Klingon Battle Cruiser. It’s looking pretty good. Check out the pics!
Also, just arriving today are the test shots of the Leif Ericson. It needs a little refinement but it is looking great. We finally get to see test shots of the red engine parts. They fit and look incredible.
We’ll have all of these test shots along with our usual display of model kits at the upcoming Wonderfest convention. We are still working on our questionnaire, giveaways and a few other goodies. It seems like we are supposed to discuss something else at the show… can’t remember what it was though. Oh well, come see us there.
Oooh! The Klingon ship bits look GREAT! The mods are a massive improvement, and the factory naile them bang on! Can’t wait to build one!
Looks good! So you guys went with the red engines. I like it, the neck looks nice also.
You only have the Klingon collectors tin listed on the web site, will a regular box be released also?
Any update on the Strange Change kits?
Hmmm, yah, I think I heard you guys are going to make a small announcement next month. 🙂
Hint — 1701 …..

Jaime,
You crack me up! 🙂
Thanks for the update, Jamie.
While I cannot attend Wonderfest this year, I am greatly anticipating the news on a particular subject that has often been THE topic of discussion for the past couple of years – the 1/350 scale kit of the TOS Enterprise.
I already have several of the premier edition on preorder from an online retailer, and have assured a local hobbyshop owner that I will not allow any of these kits to sit on his store shelf for long!
The test shots of the Klingon ship and the Leif Ericson look promising! It’s been over forty years since I have purchased a new Leif kit, and I am looking forward to experiencing this yet again.
It is great that the Klingon ship will now more closely resemble the original stage model. It has always been one of my favorite designs and I am looking forward to it’s release. My X-Acto knife and sanding block wish to express their thanks that they will never have to be used so extensively ever again to create a screen-accurate reproduction of this famous ship!
Thanks for all of your hard work on these kits. It’s nice to see the results of people who truly care about pleasing their customers.
Sincerely,
ACE
I really wanted to be at wonderfest dang it! I would have brought the build. Unfortunately gas prices are rediculous right now so I can only wish you guys a great time. Be carefull and have fun!
The Leif Ericson is looking great. Are the engines in the new kit exactly the same as the original? Do they mount into the same rectangular holes? Thanks
Jamie, I am excited to see your setup at WF this year. It’s my first time attending and I plan on making a mad dash to see what you have in store for us! Thanks for what you do
Will there be a regular kit of the Klingon Battle Cruiser besides the tin?
yes there will be eventually.
I know this isn’t about the battle cruiser, sorry about that. I would really like to see the U.S.S. Excelsior released. I have always wanted to create the last few scenes of Star Trek 6 with the same scaled Enterprise A and the Excelsior next to each other. Anyone else like this idea?
I was wondering what is the news from wonderfest.
Anything new being added to your 1/1000 line or your 1/350 line?
Sorry i could not be there.
1/650 D-7 looks great btw
Jamie,
Could you contact me off the board? I have something from the original issue of the Leif Ericson that I’d like to share with you and the LE enthusiasts.
Thanks!
Gordon
Sometime in the future, would surely like to see a 1:350 Klingon battle cruiser. Can’t think of a more perfect companion to the Enterprize. Certainly none of that Romulan petock.
